Chris Evans has stolen the hearts of America as an onscreen heartthrob. In real-life, however, it's actress Alba Baptista who has the actor head-over-heels in love.
Evans and Baptista first sparked dating rumors back in January 2022 after the two started following each other on Instagram. By November that year, a source had confirmed the two were an item, telling PEOPLE, "They are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her." They went Instagram official the following year, when Evans included his girl in his first ever Instagram Story, which was a retrospective on 2022.
The super-private couple surprised fans when news broke that they tied the knot on Sept. 9, 2023, in an intimate ceremony held in Cape Cod. Evans' superhero costars Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, Jeremy Renner, as well as Scarlett Johansson and husband Colin Jost, were all in attendance.
On Oct. 24, 2025, Evans officially entered his dad era, as the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, whom they named Alma Grace. "They're enjoying their privacy and these special first few days as a family with their baby," an insider told PEOPLE at the time.

Six months after saying "I do," the pair were ultra-chic as they walked hand-in-hand while leaving the Oscar pre-party in on March 9, 2024.
In June 2025, the Avengers star opened up about how he proposed, telling The Knothe had a few close calls where he almost blew the surprise.
"Maybe I shouldn't even be saying this. I proposed to my now-wife in Portuguese — she's Portuguese," Evans told the outlet. "So I learned how to say, 'Will you marry me?' in Portuguese. And I had practiced all week."
"I had practiced it so much that, while her and I, I'd be making breakfast and you almost just start saying it out loud and you're like, 'Oh God,' " he added, laughing. "That's not just a song that's stuck in my head, it's gonna let the cat out of the bag."
He ultimately pulled it off, though he admitted that nerves got the best of him and he may have flubbed some of the lines. "I actually think I screwed it up," he joked. "But I still know it!"
