Paula Patton is taking a minute to celebrate her son's big day!
On Tuesday, April 7, the actress, 50, shared a Reel on her Instagram as she honored her son Julian on his 16th birthday. In the series of rare throwback photos, the mother-son duo could be seen visiting exotic destinations together and smiling in sweet photos. Patton shares her son with ex Robin Thicke.
"You were born early and beat all the odds, born with fire in your eyes and a will to strive in this wonderful life," Patton wrote in her caption of her son. "You are remarkably resilient, and your emotional strength knows no bounds!"
"You showed me how to always lead with your heart, forgive, and live life to its fullest every single day, with a love for nature and the glorious gift of being alive! With you life is an amazing adventure! You are the greatest blessing of my life! Happy 16th birthday! 👑❤️❤️❤️💫."
Thicke also celebrated his son's special day with a montage of photos of his son on his Instagram.

"Happy 16th birthday, my incredible talented, kind, hard working, inspirational best son and big brother a Dad could ever want!!! I love you so much! Cheers @julian.fuego11 🏆🎂❤️," wrote Thicke, who is also dad to kids Mia, Lola and Luca with his wife April Love Geary.
Back in July, Patton spoke with PEOPLE and shared that her son Julian had recently planned their entire trip to Iceland.

"Talk about a walk in faith," Patton joked to PEOPLE. "So my son, he really wanted to go to Iceland, and it was like a dream for him, and I was like, 'You know what?' Okay, let's go."
"I had no idea where I was going. He's like, 'I'll plan the whole thing, Mom.' And I just trusted him," she continued. "He literally created the itinerary each day. 'Where are we going to even have lunch and dinner?' And I just walked on faith."
"I was like, you got it. You're 15. And he did an incredible job," said the proud mom. "It was phenomenal."
In March 2025, Thicke spoke with PEOPLE about how he's been collaborating on music with his son Julian.
"I just want him to enjoy his life, enjoy being a kid, learn, learn, learn, and enjoy the process because I love to make music, and so if you love the process of making music, then it'll always be a joy," Thicke told PEOPLE. "So I think that's what I'm trying to instill in him."
Asked about what some of the best parts of having a dad in the industry are, Julian told PEOPLE that it's nice to have him as a teacher.
"It's so cool to have him as a reference to show the music to," he said. "And get advice for it and for all my musical things, and to have a studio at the house, and come be at the events too, and being in the environment. It's amazing."
