Poison reunion tour nixed for 2026, but Bret Michaels says 'we’ll make it work' in time

Bret Michaels is prepping for his performance during NFL Draft week this month, but it’s hardly the only thing on the Poison rocker’s calendar.

He’s been on his Live & Amplified Tour since February and will round the East Coast and Midwest in May and June.

The ever-self-deprecating Michaels, 63, jokes it’s typical of his eager personality to have started the tour in less-than-auspicious driving conditions.

“I don’t always think things through, but I’m 100% passionate,” he says with a laugh. “We started in the middle of a blizzard in Windsor, Ontario. The tour buses had to pull over and wait for the highway to be cleared. The next night we drove to Niagara Falls and the third night we played the Mohegan Sun (in Connecticut), in the continued blizzard. And it didn’t stop a single fan from coming to a sold-out arena.”

While Michaels and his self-named band will keep the rock flowing through 2026, he’s still optimistic for a Poison reunion in the next two years to celebrate the 40th anniversary – albeit late ‒of the band’s 1986 breakthrough debut, “Look What the Cat Dragged In.”

“It will be the all original band. I love them, they’re my brothers,” Michaels says of bandmates Rikki Rockett, CC DeVille and Bobby Dall. “We’ll make it work in ’27 or ’28.”

In the meantime, along with his April 24 performance at the NFL Draft in his native Pittsburgh, Michaels also released a “sports tribute remix” video set to Poison’s eternal party hit, “Nothin’ But a Good Time.”

The clip features Michaels playing sports, working out, performing on stage and interacting with various sports figures, particularly fans and players of his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

“It’s a good celebration of rock and jock,” Michaels says.
