New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani mentioned Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding during a press conference about city events happening over the Fourth of July weekend
He also revealed whether he was invited to the nuptials
"I wish them a lovely wedding," Mamdani said in part
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is fueling rumors that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will tie the knot in the Big Apple.
Amid reports that the couple, both 36, plan to marry over the Fourth of July weekend, Mamdani, 34, listed their wedding alongside other high-profile events taking place in N.Y.C. during a press conference on Monday, June 15. He mentioned the highly anticipated wedding while discussing the NYPD's preparedness to provide a "safe experience" for the July 5 match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the New York New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium) in East Rutherford, N.J.
"We are the biggest city in the country," Mamdani said. "We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks' Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding — all happening at the same time —and we are so excited to welcome the world here."

Later on, a reporter asked the Democratic leader, "You did mention Taylor Swift's wedding. Have you been invited? Are you going?"
"No and no," Mamdani replied while laughing. "I wish them a lovely wedding. I'll listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own."

Swift's single "Only the Young" is a political protest and activist anthem, written after the 2018 U.S. elections and featured in her 2020 Netflix documentary, Miss Americana.
Kelce and Swift have not directly addressed any wedding rumors.

Swift has been spending time in New York City in recent days. She stepped out to Madison Square Garden for Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 10. Wearing a "Stevie Knicks" T-shirt, the bride-to-be sat courtside by Mariska Hargitay and sisters Alana and Este Haim as the New York Knicks made a historic 29-point comeback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs, winning 107-106.
She and Kelce were also spotted having a theater date at Broadway's Oh, Mary! at the Lyceum Theatre on June 13. After the show, the couple posed backstage with star Maya Rudolph and other cast members.
