Kaia Gerber isn’t seeing double when it comes to her mom, Cindy Crawford.

*The Shards *actress admitted that she doesn’t think she looks like her supermodel mom, despite many thinking otherwise.

“It’s an honor when people tell me I look like my mom. I wish I did. I think, even on my best days, I’m not even close. But like, it means so much to me,” she told Yahoo Entertainment in response to the outlet calling the mother-daughter duo “definitely twins.”

“I think she’s just the most beautiful woman inside and out. And so if there’s any way that I remind anyone of her, it’s just, like, the largest compliment.”

Fans were convinced otherwise. “Mama and daughter are stunning! Kaia most definitely looks like Cindy ❤️❤️,” one commented on TikTok. “Girl, you look exactly like her. Crazy she can’t see it lol,” another said.

“Mind you they’re literally twins 😂😂😂,” a third chimed in.

“She looks so much like her mom! when I first saw her on AHS I was thinking wow that girl looks just like Cindy Crawford! both very beautiful women ❤️❤️❤️,” someone else wrote, referring to her role in *American Horror Story: Double Feature*.

Like her mother, Gerber pursued a career in modeling before she began acting. She praised Crawford in 2025 for being hands-off when she stepped onto the runway.

“You are so not a stage mom,” Gerber told Crawford during a joint appearance on *Today*. “I kind of wish you were a little bit more, but she’s so not a stage mom at all, because she’s had her own life experiences, and she has never lived vicariously through us.”

Gerber added that no matter what career path her mother would have chosen, “I would have wanted to do that,” noting, “She’s always been my biggest inspiration and hero.”

Gerber’s latest role is starring in *The Shards*, based on Bret Easton Ellis’ semi-autobiographical 2023 novel of the same name, helmed by Ryan Murphy.

Per an official synopsis, the limited series takes place amid “the vivid backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles.” “The series follows a group of privileged high school seniors at an elite prep school as they navigate identity, sex, jealousy, obsession and the dangers lurking beneath the surface of American adolescence.”

Joining Gerber are Igby Rigney, Homer Gere — whose father, Richard Gere, is the ex-husband of Crawford IRL — Hayes Warner, Graham Campbell, Evan Rachel Wood, Wes Bentley, and Jordan Roth.
