Originally expected to be a limited series, Jennifer Garner’s *The Five Star Weekend* has now been renewed for a second season, after debuting as Peacock’s most watched show ever.

Adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s 2023 novel of the same name, *The Five Star Weekend* stars Garner as Hollis, a famous cook and author who suffers a devastating loss. As the cracks begin to show in her seemingly picture-perfect life, she hosts a weekend away at her Nantucket house with three friends from her past and one surprise guest.

The stacked cast also includes D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Harlow Jane, and Timothy Olyphant.

“I could instantly see it as a show,” creator Bekah Brunstetter (*This Is Us*, *Maid*) previously told EW. “I found it to be this incredible combination of lightness and depth, which is really hard to find in a series. I just really believe in TV shows that uplifts but also challenges at the same time.”

Garner added that she hoped that women would watch the show “with their girlfriends,” and they must have, given the series’ record-breaking ratings, having accumulated 1.8 billion minutes watched since its July 9 release.

“I hope they feel how much the five of us love them, and get them, and get how much female friendship means to all of us,” Garner shared with EW. “I would not be me without my ladies.”

In terms of what season 2 might bring, the season 1 finale featured Brooke (Carden) suggesting they make their weekend trip an annual thing and pitching Greece as an idea. Additionally, Hilderbrand’s novel includes an epilogue set a year later, with the ladies taking on Italy.
