Dolores Catania’s Son Frank Jr. Marries Nicole Perricho in Romantic Portugal Wedding

Dolores Catania’s son Frank Catania Jr. married Nicole Perricho during an intimate destination wedding that transformed Portugal’s Douro Valley into a full weekend celebration.

Frank, 27, and Nicole, 31, exchanged vows on August 1 before holding their reception at The Vintage House in Pinhão.

In an exclusive interview with People, the newlyweds said they wanted the event to feel “relaxed, elegant and effortlessly romantic” while celebrating the food, wine and traditions of the surrounding region.

The location carried personal meaning because Nicole’s family is from Portugal and her roots in the country run deep.

Portugal Already Felt Like Home to the Couple

“We’ve been coming here every summer since we started dating, so it already felt like home to us,” Frank said. “I couldn’t think of a more beautiful place to begin our marriage.” The couple worked with planner JoAnn Gregoli to organize an intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends and relatives.

They followed Catholic tradition by marrying inside a church, with their parish priest in Portugal officiating. Guests then traveled to The Vintage House for a reception overlooking the Douro Valley’s vineyards.

Frank’s mother, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania, attended with her fiancé, Paul “Paulie” Connell. Frank’s father, Frank Catania Sr., and older sister, Gabby Catania, were also part of the family celebration.

Nicole Wore Two Bridal Looks

Nicole worked with White House Bride owner Stacie Hiras to create a custom couture gown for the ceremony. Her first bridal look featured long lace sleeves, a full skirt and a coordinating veil. Frank wore a custom light-tan suit by Michael Andrews Bespoke NYC.

Nicole later changed into a fitted, strapless white dress for the reception as the evening moved from dinner into dancing. Dolores wore a custom pale-blue gown by Stephen Yearick head designer Leigh Price. The mother-of-the-groom dress featured floral embellishments that complemented the romantic wine-country setting.

Bravo later shared images from the celebration showing Dolores posing with Frank and Nicole, while Gabby welcomed the bride into the family by referring to her as her “actual seester.”

The Reception Highlighted Portuguese Food and Wine

Guests were served a plated dinner accompanied by Portuguese wines and an assortment of artisanal cheeses from across the country. The menu included burrata with heirloom tomatoes, local seafood appetizers, filet mignon, fresh Atlantic fish and lobster. Seasonal vegetables and locally sourced ingredients completed the meal.

Frank and Nicole selected a four-tier wedding cake covered in ivory buttercream and subtle floral details. One flavor combined vanilla bean sponge with fresh berries and mascarpone cream, while the second featured chocolate cake with salted caramel filling.

The dessert table also offered traditional and locally inspired treats, including pastéis de nata, fruit tarts, macarons and chocolate truffles.

The Couple Added Personal Details to the Party

Frank and Nicole shared their first dance to Bruno Mars’ “Risk It All.” “The lyrics really spoke to us and perfectly captured how we feel about our relationship and the commitment we’re making to each other,” they said.

They hired a DJ to keep guests dancing to early-2000s music and added an unusual tribute to one of their favorite television shows. “We also had a projector playing scenes from Miami Vice throughout the reception,” the couple explained.

“It’s one of our favorite shows to watch together, and it was a fun little detail that made the celebration feel even more like us.” The evening ended with a sparkler display featuring the couple’s new shared surname.

The Wedding Celebration Lasted All Weekend

The festivities began with a welcome party aboard a boat traveling along the Douro River. Guests gathered on the upper deck for music, dancing and views of the valley’s vineyards before the wedding ceremony.

Frank and Nicole also left open time in the itinerary so their friends and relatives could explore the region independently. Some guests went kayaking, while others visited local wineries or spent time taking in the countryside.

The newlyweds reunited with everyone for a farewell brunch at the end of the weekend. “We wrapped up the weekend with a farewell brunch, giving everyone one last opportunity to relax together before heading home,” they said.

Frank Proposed at St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Frank proposed to Nicole inside St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City on February 22, 2025. Dolores, Frank Sr., Gabby and members of Nicole’s family were present for the milestone.

Dolores previously explained that the couple intended to hold another celebration in New Jersey for relatives who could not travel to Portugal.

Frank and Nicole are expected to renew their vows on October 30 at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, allowing Frank’s grandmother and other members of the Catania family to participate.
