In celebration of the *Outlander* season 8 being released on DVD and Blu-ray Collector’s Edition box set on Sept. 22, ** can exclusively reveal a heartwarming scene that was cut from the emotional final season.

In the clip, Ian James/Swiftest of Lizards (Nikosis Sakihaw Kingfisher) can be seen rushing up to Claire (Balfe) and affectionally asking his “Great Auntie Witch” if he can have another biscuit. He is, naturally, immediately admonished by Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small) for the nickname.

“I’d say we were sorry, but I’m not,” Young Ian (John Bell) says from his seat next to his wife at the table. “Wait to you hear this: Tell your Auntie Claire where you got that name for her.”

To which Ian James happily quips, “I’ve seen you as a witch in my dreams!”

It’s then that Young Ian confirms that the boy has prophetic dreams just like his mom, Emily (⁠Morgan Holmstrom).

“He said he saw my da, and that I should be happy because he was walking on two legs again,” he explains. “But I never once told him that my dad lost a leg.”

And that’s not his only talent: Ian James can also see ghosts. When Claire asks if she has any spirits surrounding her, he replies, “There is a man. I’ve seen him more than once. He wears spectacles and a funny hat with a short brim.”

The revelation takes Claire by surprise, but Ian James isn’t too concerned about the mysterious man. “You should not worry. He means you no harm,” the boy continues. “He’s a man who loved you. He follows your husband, too.”

In response, Claire simply turns to look at Young Ian and Rachel in disbelief. seemingly aware of whom Ian James is referring to without their name being explicitly stated.

The touching moment is one of several deleted scenes that will be included in the DVD and Blu-ray versions of *Outlander* season 8 when they’re released next month. Both versions will not only feature all ten episodes of the final season, but also a wide array of bonus content including a blooper reel, additional deleted scenes, and a series retrospective featurette titled “*Outlander* for All Time” that will celebrate the show’s legacy.

In addition to the above goodies, the Blu-ray Collector’s Edition features a set of special cards and a 32-page booklet complete with exciting behind-the-scenes photos from the series. And, perhaps most importantly, it includes a collection of heartfelt letters penned by the show’s cast and producers to its dedicated fanbase.

But that’s not all, sassenachs! Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has also announced that it plans to will release an *Outlander* DVD box set that compiles all eight seasons — and some extras — ahead of the holidays. Sounds like it’s time to return to Craigh na Dun to us!
