BBC Radio 1 presenter Mollie King revealed she was rushed to the hospital after collapsing unconscious and hitting her head and face at home

King said fiancé Stuart Broad helped her after the fall and called the experience a "real wake-up call"

After nearly two weeks off the air, the former singer returned to Radio 1, telling listeners it was "so, so good to be back"

Mollie King is opening up about a frightening health scare that kept her off the air for nearly two weeks.

The BBC Radio 1 presenter and former member of The Saturdays revealed that she was rushed to the hospital after collapsing unconscious at her home in the early hours of the morning, according to an Instagram post shared on June 8.

"Hi guys! So many of you have kindly messaged me over the past two weeks asking why I haven't been on air - thank you so much for checking in!" King, 39, wrote on Instagram.

According to King, the incident occurred after she returned home from work.

"After coming home late from work, I suddenly collapsed unconscious on the bathroom floor at 4am, hitting my head and face as I fell. It was a huge shock and I ended up being rushed to A&E," King wrote.

The radio host said she has spent time reflecting on how serious the incident could have been and expressed gratitude that she was not alone when it happened.

"I keep thinking how grateful I am that I wasn't on my own and had Stuart to bring me round after I fell," King wrote, referring to her fiancé, former cricket player Stuart Broad, with whom she shares two daughters.

King also thanked the medical staff who treated her following the fall.

"A huge thank you to Amy and Hannah at St George's Hospital who were absolutely incredible, stitching me up so well, and even managed to see past the Looney Tunes pyjama top I arrived in (must buy new pyjamas!)," King wrote.

The experience prompted her to reassess her health and well-being, she said.

"It's been a real wake-up call that I need to make some time to get my strength back, not just for my own health, but so I can be the best version of myself for my family too," King wrote.

The presenter shared that she recently began easing back into her normal routine, posting a photo of herself spending time with one of her daughters on Sunday.

"Yesterday was my first day doing anything social. After what has felt like a very long two weeks, it was amazing to get out and spend time with my girls," King wrote.

She added that the family had an unexpected moment that lifted their spirits.

"We even had the surprise of spotting Daddy on a big screen, which made us all smile," King wrote.

King concluded her post by thanking supporters for their messages during her recovery.

"Thank you so much to everyone who has checked in on me, and for all the lovely birthday messages too. Your kindness has meant so much," King wrote. "I can't wait to be back on the radio with Matt today ❤️"

Later that day, King returned to BBC Radio 1 and reflected on her recovery. She described the past several weeks as a "grim few weeks" and thanked listeners for their support, according to The Independent.

"It's so, so good to be back," King told listeners, the outlet reported.

In addition to her work on BBC Radio 1, King co-hosts the podcast Novel Idea with Matt Edmondson, where the pair collaborate on writing a mystery novel, with each episode serving as a new chapter.
