- Ariana Madix wants to earn EGOT status following her Emmy nomination.
- The *Love Island USA* host says she manifests things to happen to her.
- She says the EGOT title is her “loftiest” and “biggest” goal.
What Ariana Madix wants, Ariana Madix gets — or, at least, that’s the goal.
The former *Vanderpump Rules** *star, who just received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for *Love Island USA*, opened up to *Marie Claire* about the achievement and what she hopes to accomplish in the future — namely, earning EGOT status: a prestigious title given to those who’ve won competitive Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards throughout their careers.
“It felt very surreal,” Madix, 41, a self-professed theater kid, recalled to the mag of learning she was nominated for an Emmy. “It’s really going to hit when we start scheduling things closer to the Emmys. Whenever they do billboards for *Love Island*, I’m always [in Fiji]. If they do something to promote this, I’ll probably get very emotional.”
Madix has hit a few milestone career moments since Scandoval rocked her world in 2023. Her partner of almost 10 years, Tom Sandoval, was caught having a monthslong affair with her friend and *Vanderpump Rules *costar Raquel Leviss, and the fallout was intense. But rather than letting it derail her, Madix used heartbreak as motivation.

She shared goals of owning a home, making her Broadway debut, and hosting a dating show—all of which she accomplished by 2024. (Madix also competed on *Dancing With the Stars*, coming in third place with partner Pasha Pashkov in season 32.)
“If I say something out loud, especially in a forum where other people are going to hear about it, I feel as though, ‘Okay, now that I’ve said it, I have to put work towards it.’ Putting something out there allows me to really focus and work towards it,” Madix told *Marie Claire*. “What are the loftiest goals possible? EGOT status is probably the biggest.”

She continued, “I think my ideal life includes getting to host this fun, fantastical show, being able to go on stage and dance and sing, and to go on TV and creatively express myself and make people laugh. If I could balance all of that with a loving and stable life at home, that to me is the ultimate goal. We’re manifesting that now, but we can still put the EGOT out there.”
Of her hosting style, Madix said she likes to be real and show her personality while interacting with the Islanders.
“Sometimes when I go to the villa, I don’t have a script. I’ll have an earpiece [to feed me lines], and there are times where I’m saying things that I’ve never heard or read before,” she explained. “I love it when I can get a script so I can put things in my own words, because I do like to be able to go in and be myself. I always think those are the moments that are the best on the show: when I’m able to bring myself to whatever crazy, fun, sexy moment is about to happen.”
