Amanda Kloots has fostered “a spiritual relationship” with late husband Nick Cordero in the years after his death.

“It is unfathomable to me. The man talks to me all the time,” Kloots said when appearing on the Aug. 4 episode of *MeSsy With Christina Applegate & Jamie Lynn Sigler*. “We are connected more spiritually [now] than I felt when he was on this Earth.”

Kloots said she will “ask him questions” and Cordero will answer.

“I ask for things, they come,” she continued. “He is around, and it is so tangible and beautiful that it is like, I don’t even know what’s going on. But I never let him go.”

Cordero, a Tony Award-nominated actor and singer, died at age 41 in July 2020 from COVID-related complications. Prior to his death, the musician spent more than three months in the hospital. Kloots documented his entire stay on social media, even as Cordero had his leg amputated because of blood clots. He was on a ventilator and undergoing dialysis when he died.

“He is still here,” Kloots said during Tuesday’s podcast episode. “We don’t have to let our people go. They are here. They can still be around.”

Former *The Talk** *host said “the biggest mistake” people make when someone dies is to stop talking about them. Kloots said she would “never” be over Cordero’s death.

“That’s the message, we need to keep talking about grief,” she said during the episode. “Keep talking about your person. Keep loving your person.”

Kloots and Cordero wed in 2017. They share 7-year-old son Elvis. Kloots moved on with boyfriend Justin Gimelstob years after Cordero’s death, going public in April 2025. The former professional dancer spoke candidly during Tuesday’s podcast episode about the “judgement” she’s received for attempting to find love again.

“It’s very interesting how, for instance, when a widow starts dating again [it’s like], ‘Oh you don’t love your husband anymore,’” Kloots said. “A widow is supposed to wear black and just raise her children alone for the rest of her life and never have any kind of fun or sexual experience ever again.”

While Kloots has taken steps to find love again, she’s made it clear that it will never change how she feels about Cordero. Last month, Kloots even showed off a ring made from Cordero’s ashes — proving that he’ll be with her forever.

“The way this beautiful stone turns blue when it catches the light feels like pure magic,” she captioned an Instagram video on June 18, showcasing the “gorgeous” ring. “The stone is set so it always touches my skin, and Nick’s initials are engraved on the bottom—a beautiful reminder that he is always with me.”
