- The actors join fellow OGs Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in the fourth *Mummy*.

- The new film opens in theaters on October 15, 2027.

More of the new *Mummy* sequel cast is being unwrapped.

Oded Fehr and Kevin J. O’Connor, who appeared in the original 1999 film, are returning alongside stars Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in the upcoming fourth installment, ** has confirmed.

Fehr appeared in the first two movies as Medjai chief Ardeth Bay, while O’Connor played thief Beni Gabor, who shares a history with Rick O’Connell (Fraser), in the first film. Fehr’s credits include *Resident Evil*, *Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalo*, and *Sleeper Cell*. O’Connor went on to memorably star opposite Daniel Day-Lewis in Paul Thomas Anderson’s masterpiece *There Will Be Blood*. As previously announced, fellow original franchise star John Hannah is also returning.

“I was doing *There Will Be Blood* with Daniel Day-Lewis, and one of the local town kids, he was looking for a skinny guy that played Beni,” O’Connor recalled in EW’s *Mummy* oral history. “He pointed to Daniel-Day Lewis and said, ‘Was he the guy in The Mummy?’ [*Laughs.*] I said, ‘No, that was me.’”

Fraser and Weisz led 1999’s *The Mummy* and 2001’s *The Mummy Returns*, but Weisz was replaced by Maria Bello in 2008’s *The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor*. The initial onscreen couple are now set to reunite for a long-awaited new film. Fraser, Weisz, Fehr, O’Connor, and Hannah will star alongside *Obsession* breakout Michael Johnston and *Young Sherlock* actor Numan Acar. (*Deadline* first reported the additions of Fehr, O’Connor, and Acar.)

*Scream* and *Ready or Not* duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are directing *Mummy 4*, with Gillett calling it a “dream project.”

“It’s just really, really beautiful and scary and sweeping, and it’s awesome,” Gillett told EW of David Coggeshall’s script.

Bettinelli-Olpin added, “I don’t think Brendan and Rachel are getting involved unless they love that script, and what they read, I think they really liked. It’s gonna be fun to make.”

The next *Mummy* opens in theaters on Oct. 15, 2027.
